Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about how FareNotify watches flight prices for you.
Questions
How does FareNotify find cheap flights?
We watch the exact routes and date windows you choose and re-check their price across public flight-search sites around the clock, then email you when a fare drops enough to matter.
How are prices found?
For each route and date window you watch, we query public flight-search sites and read back the cheapest fare they show, including the airline, number of stops and times where available. We store what we see so we can tell a genuine drop from normal day-to-day movement.
Which sites and sources do you use?
We check a range of public flight-search sites and airline sites where available. We never invent prices - every fare we show you is one we actually saw, with the airline, stops and times included where the source provides them.
What is price history and why does it matter?
Every check is saved, so each route builds up a history of lows, averages and recent trend. That history is how we decide a fare is genuinely worth booking rather than just slightly cheaper than yesterday.
How often do you check prices?
Routes are re-checked continuously on a rolling schedule, around the clock. You do not need to refresh anything; new prices and history appear on your dashboard automatically.
When will I get an alert?
You get an email when a watched route drops below your target price, or when a fare is close to the lowest we have ever seen for that route. The email explains exactly why it qualified.
Will I get spammed with emails?
No. We only email you when there is a real price drop on a route you are watching. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe and you can pause any route at any time.
What is in the alert email?
The route and price, why it qualified, the airline, stops and times where known, and buttons to book the fare and to view or edit the watchlist.
How do I book a flight?
FareNotify is a price watcher, not a travel agent. When a fare qualifies, the alert links you straight to the source so you can book there. We never take payment or add booking fees.
How do watchlists work?
A watchlist is a route, a departure window, an optional return window, a target price and a flight preference - direct only, max 1 stop, connections allowed, or self-transfer. We watch that exact combination and alert you on it. You can run several at once.
Can I watch round-trip, one-way or multi-city trips?
Yes. Choose round-trip, one-way or multi-city when you create a watchlist, and we track the whole itinerary - every leg - as a single trip.
Can I edit or delete a watchlist?
Yes. Open any watchlist to change its dates, target price or flight preference, pause it while you decide, or delete it entirely. Changes take effect on the next check.
Do I need to install an app?
No. FareNotify works entirely in your browser and by email. You add a route on the website and we email you when the price drops.
Is FareNotify free to use?
Yes, at no cost - you can track routes and get price-drop alerts with no card required.
How do you handle my privacy?
We store only what we need to run your alerts: your email, the routes you watch and basic profile details you choose to add. We do not sell your data, and you can delete your account and watchlists at any time.
What currency are prices shown in?
All prices are shown in US dollars. Some sources quote other currencies; we convert each fare to USD and record whether it was read directly in USD or converted, so your price history stays comparable over time.
How accurate are the prices?
We show the cheapest fare each source returns for your exact route and dates, read at the moment of the check. Fares change constantly and can sell out between a check and your booking, and some may exclude bags or seat selection, so always confirm the final price and conditions on the airline or booking site before you pay.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Ask us to close your account and we remove your personal data, including your watchlists. You can also pause or delete individual watchlists at any time without closing your account.
